Petty revenge for parking in my spot

This happened a couple years ago when I first moved into our apartment community. To set the scene, there are a ridiculously low amount of guest parking spots available.

On the side that I'm on there are three apartment buildings with 24 apartments each so 72 units total.

There are THREE parking stalls available marked for guests. THREE. One for each building. There is street parking available as well.

Anyways, one day I get home from work and I find that someone has parked in my parking stall.

I was pretty pissed. Thankfully our leasing office is very encouraging of tenants calling and utilizing the towing company.

In fact, in our leasing package given to us when we moved in had the towing company phone number and we get emails encouraging us to use them if someone is in our spot.

So that is exactly what I did. So after a while I decided to go out to see if I got my parking spot back.

  • 09
Indeed I did. HOWEVER, when I went outside there was also a group of three women (grandma, mom and daughter) looking around with great concern.

The daughter was freaking out saying, "Oh shit! Where's my car! Where's my car! I have to be at work in an hour!" When they saw me, one of them asked do you know the number of the towing company.

I said that I did not and wished them luck. I checked my mailbox for mail and went back inside with a strange satisfaction.

Later I parked my car back in my stall. Moral of the story is FAFO, play stupid games get stupid prizes and all of that.

ultradip I would have played even dumber. Like, "Huh? Your car got towed? Why would they do that?"

OP Reverbolo Oh believe me I soooo wanted to! I WANTED to ask them if they parked in a guest stall and explained that there are only so many, but I thought that would have been taking it too far.

ChaosFreak23 I love having cars towed that park in, or block my driveway.

OP Reverbolo Yes! It's just plain rude to begin with. Have some awareness and common courtesy. And just don't be an asshole and park where you're supposed to.

AprilB916 Fafo indeed! :) I'm curious, is there clear signs about assigned spots & violations?

OP Reverbolo Yes there are signs at each entrance to the parking area.

Unusual_Recipe_3354 I lived in a condo a few years back. At first, it was first-come parking. Then after about a year later, they did assigned parking. We had a new neighbor move in. I'd find his car parked in 3-4 different spots. Then one night after working til midnight, he parked in mine. We had signs around the lots for "Scott's towing 24/7. Cost him over $300 to get car back. He left a nasty note on my car. Sued I must be in a really bad mood, and why didn't I just park somewhere else. Left

OP Reverbolo Amazing! I honestly don't know how much our towing is, but I'm sure it's not cheap. You don't park in another man's parking spot! :-D
